The quick, non-fat overview on how Shot of Charity™ selects charitable partners:
The Shot of Charity™ team selects charities based on their mission, objectives, cost structure, effectiveness, and geographic location.
Shot of Charity™ seeks small, lesser-known organizations that work at the grass-roots level. Featured charities must have clearly defined, high-impact goals that resonate with the coffee consumer. When possible, the Shot of Charity™ team will perform on-site assessments of the identified organizations.
Specific objectives for targeted organizations include:
- Regional charities: social justice, after-school programs, women’s shelters, and alternative homeless assistance.
- International charities: human trafficking, sustainable agricultural development in coffee-growing communities, clean water, education, orphanages, high-impact health services, and micro-enterprise.
- Each charity must conform to specific parameters for administrative and fundraising costs in order to ensure effective use of donated funds. Current guidelines specify a target of 14% or less for administrative costs, with a maximum ceiling of 25%.
